Upon reaching the main arterial road, the journey smoothes into a straight run through Lombok's heartland. The bustling provincial capital of Mataram whizzes by, a contrast of modern shops and traditional markets. Beyond the city, the route parallels the coastline for a stretch, with occasional glimpses of the sea on the left. Finally arriving in Kuta Lombok, the vibe is instantly vibrant. The main strip is lined with cafes, warungs, and surf shops. However, the true destination lies just beyond.
